Did you know that only 72 percent of American adults read a book in 2015? That's what the Pew Research Center reported. It makes sense; after all, adulting can be hard and definitely keeps people busy.
Enter reading goals. A reading challenge.
For 2016, my goal was to read 40 books. I met my goal of 35 books last year, so I thought 40 wasn't much of a stretch. Turns out, I was wrong. 2016 was a whirlwind. I missed the mark by 12 books.
But, I've decided that's okay. I read a bunch of great books and had some good conversations about them in the Bookish Angst online book club.
Setting goals motivates me to read even when I'm busy or feeling overwhelmed. So this year I set the same goal--40 books. I have a good feeling about it, but even if I don't meet the goal I know I'm in for some great reads.
